​â¶Ä‹â€‹SAN JOSE, CA – The ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û (ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û) is proud to reveal the 2018 Artspiration Principal Arts Leadership Award winners.
This award is given to exceptional school leaders who have shown outstanding support and leadership for Arts Education in Santa Clara County. This year two accomplished education leaders will be recognized at the Young Artists Showcase Celebration on Tuesday, May 22 at 4:30 p.m. at the ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û.
Patrick Buchser is the Principal at Jackson Academy of Math and Music in Morgan Hill Unified School District. Along with his team, Mr. Buchser coordinates school community events celebrating music and dance where families and students spend time together watching and participating in performances. The program includes daily music for all students and after-school programs that offer other performing arts, including theater.​
His work includes supporting and assisting​ the adoption of an Arts Equity Resolution, forming a partnership with the California Alliance for Arts Education and developing Morgan Hill Unified School District's first Strategic Arts Plan.
"Mr. Buchser is an advocate for the arts for all students and regularly takes time to share valuable research about how the arts impact student learning outcomes and school climate," according to his district.
Noli Magsino is the Coordinator for the Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education, and Sports Program at Alum Rock Union Elementary School District. He provides a strong, rigorous and diverse music program to his students. His programs include instrumental music, general music, choir, band, guitar, drum corps and the district Mariachi. He coordinates the elementary choir program, leads the Alum Rock Jazz Band, and serves as a liaison for securing opportunities for Alum Rock students to share their talents at district and community events.
In addition to the support of the music department, Noli coordinates the elementary visual arts program/teachers and elementary physical education program/teachers. He has created an innovative system to support assemblies across the district with proper amplification and sound. He listens closely to his teachers and works to find resources for all students in the area of visual and performing arts.
"Noli is a true leader in building our performing arts program around the Alum Rock School District," according to his district.
