​â¶Ä‹â€‹â¶Ä‹â€‹SAN JOSE, CA – During an annual organizational meeting on December 13, the Santa Clara County Board of Education (SCCBOE) elected Vice President Rosemary Kamei as president for the coming year, with a 6-0 vote and one absence.
Rosemary Kamei was first appointed to the SCCBOE in May 2015 to fill the vacant Area 3 seat and elected to a four-year term in November 2016. Kamei is currently the chief operating officer for Silicon Valley Education Foundation. Her previous experience includes serving as executive director of Building Futures Now, an after-school and summer school program serving students from fourth grade through college in East Palo. Kamei spent 17 years as a director for the Santa Clara County Valley Water District and also taught for two years at San José State University as an adjunct professor.
The SCCBOE also adopted the calendar of meetings for 2018. The monthly meetings are held at the ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û at 5 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, with only one meeting in January, July, November, and December in 2018.

The Santa Clara County Board of Education is the elected governing body of the ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û. Its seven members serve four-year terms and are elected from different regions of the county.
The ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û (ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û) is a regional service agency that provides instructional and business services to the 31 school districts of Santa Clara County. The ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û serves students through special education programs, alternative schools, Head Start and State Preschool programs, migrant education, and Opportunity Youth Academy. The Office also provides curriculum support, staff development, and technology support and training directly to teachers and staff in schools countywide.
