Under the direction of the County Superintendent, t​he Charter Schools Department coordinates the programmatic and fiscal oversight for charter schools approved by the Santa Clara County Board of Education. The department also serves as a resource for Santa Clara County's charter schools, school districts, state and local agencies as well as families and communities.
In support of the Mission of ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û, the Charter Schools Department has three goals:
- Improve access to inclusive, equitable, high quality education
- Provide quality services and supports to districts, communities, schools & students
- Be a premier authorizer
