Q: How does the videotaping get scheduled?
A: Our team will contact you by phone or email to schedule a convenient time for a ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û videographer to film you.
Q: How long will the taping take?
A: Filming will take approximately an hour – and will include a brief interview, footage of you working with your students and photographs for the program.
Q: How long will the final version be?
A: About a minute per teacher.
Q: Where will the taping occur?
A: We prefer to come to you and see you in your natural environment – the classroom. Sometimes it’s not convenient, due to scheduling conflicts or year-end activities. As an alternative the ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û headquarters has a television studio wherein taping can also take place.​
Q: What do I say?
A: Once you sign up for your appointment, you will receive your interview questions. ​
Q: What do I wear?
A: Comfortable, professional clothing that fits well and makes you look and feel great. Please avoid solid white and busy patterns.
Q: Who will see this?
A: It will be shown on a large screen at the Teacher Recognition Celebration gala as part of the program. After the event, the entire ceremony – teacher interviews included – will be posted on the ÀϰÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û’s website, and will air on local cable channels. About a month after the event, you will a link to a copy of the entire event.
Q: Am I the only teacher who feels nervous about being filmed?
A: No. Many people believe they don’t appear or speak well on camera, and often express anxiety about the process. Don’t worry: Staff is trained to help you relax and make you look and feel good. We’ll work together to find the best place in your classroom to showcase you and your important work with students.
Q: Anything else?
A: A photograph of you (a head shot) will be taken at the same time. This will be used in the formal keepsake program that will be distributed at the event.
