Arts Experiences Grants
- San Jose Museum of Art's Sowing Creativity in-class art-making program led by professional artists
- Researching, writing, and producing an original play about the life and legacy of Blanca Alvarado as a capstone production at the Mexican Heritage Plaza
- Attending live theater performances such as Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the Nutcracker or performances at Childrens' Musical Theater
- Visit to The Tech Interactive to see first-hand how technology can be used in conjunction with art
- Inquiry-based tour of a contemporary art gallery at Palo Alto Art Center followed by a 45-minute hands-on art lesson
- Visits/all-day field trips to the Discovery Museum, San Jose Museum of Art, Montalvo Arts Center, and Cantor Arts Center to explore different art forms
- Drumming residency with local musician Jimmy Biala and the opportunity to learn Cuban drumming
- Listening to the San Jose Taiko playing Japanese drums. Learning about the history and principles of taiko and playing the taiko with the help of an instructor
- Working with a composer who guest conducted on a brand new work that has never been played before
- Learning about cinematography/video editing and how to write a film script. Then applying the knowledge to reimagine events that led up to the Revolutionary War if it were to happen in modern day
Material & Supplies Grants (Must be connected to an Arts Experiences Grant)
- T-shirts as swag for students from Act of Random Kindness club & materials for a flower arrangement open to the entire school promoting kindness in work with a teaching artist
- Materials and supplies for a Spring musical (Moana Jr.) in work with an arts organization
- Ceramic pottery supplies - coil pots, slab boxes
- ​Choice functional pottery in work with a teaching artist
- Underglaze and pottery tools to teach students about the sgraffito process of decoration in ceramics.
- 18 x 24 hardboards to place on the easels for painting projects
- Building and painting bird houses and erupting volcanoes
- Arts supplies to create artwork and projects that reflect students' learning and creativity around ancient civilizations they learned about in the Social Science class with a teaching artist

- Art supplies to create a mural based on what students learned in the science class about Monterey Bay's plants and animals that make up the kelp forest environment, water cycle, local habitats, and how the carbon cycle impacts climate change​
