What should I do if there are multiple staff absences in my classroom without subs?
The teacher should assess the current staffing needs of the classroom compared to student and staff attendance and immediately notify the cluster office if additional staff is needed. The cluster principal will be in contact with the teacher to determine appropriate next steps if needed.
What should I do if there are extra staff in my classroom due to student absences?
If your classroom has extra staff due to student absences on any given day, notify the cluster office by 9:00 am each day so that staff may be reassigned where needed.
What should I do if there is not enough permanent staff in the classroom?
The teacher should contact the cluster principal, and potentially, short term support can be provided until the needs of the classrooms are appropriately assessed.
Should I take a student alone to the restroom?
In order to best protect yourself and your students, you should take students with another adult to attend to their personal care needs. Please consult with your teacher and / or administrator if there are ongoing concerns related to this matter.
